1. What profession you would take if you were not a designer?
Psychologist.  

  2. What made you decided to be a designer?

  The taste for harmonization of the female mark with elegance, originality and style, transported to accessories    that give them an unique   refinement.

3  What do you love most about fashion?

The colors, the shapes and the fact that they can convert pieces or accessories in art.  

 

4. Who is your style icon?

While designer, Manolo Blahnik, while model/image, Grace Kelly .

 

5. What is the most inspiring place for you?

The place is indifferent to me, provided that i’m inspired.

6. Do you have a specific research process when you start designing new pieces?

No, I haven’t.  

 

7. What is the radio when you're working?

I prefer silence.  

 

8. What was the highlight of your career so far?

I started recently, since now, the most exciting was the receptivity of the general public and in particular Momad.

SUEÑOS DE LUCÍA, MADE IN SPAIN BRAND

Lucia is waiting, she is in Moda 22 Hall, the coworking space where she has Sueños de Lucia office. She is so friendly and she has cute accent from the south os Spain. She is wearing a purple t-shirt from her collection and we love it. While we’re taking coffee I start the interview.

How does Sueños de Lucia start?

The Brand was born as an accessories Brand, I did belts, bracelets…but it was at the beginning. After that I changed to  clothing designs.

 

And where the name comes from?

The name comes from an Eduardo Galeano’s tale that a friend wrote and dedicates to me. It was called Lucia’s Dreams. I really love it so I decided to use it for my Brand.

 

How do you describe your Brand style?

When I start I wanted to focus to the couture because of the fabrics and materials treat. But right now I define my Brand as an urban and for the night instead.

What makes to you dedicate to fashion?

When I was a child I lived the artisan part with my grandparents; the leather, the couture or the kitchen. I started to get interest for the design, couture…and here I am.

Which designers were the most those inspire you?

International designers. I love  Alexander McQueen and he is my favorite. Also Chanel, I love their classic lines in the designs. I admire Del Pozo, Spanish, and Galiano because he is so theatrical and I like the theatre clothing.

 

Celebrity crush?

As a women icon I really like Isabella Blume and I love Rosi de Palma.

 

 

What is for you Sueños de Lucia in USA?

It is a big step, a positive progress and it is good for the Brand.

 

What does mean to you work with Beiñ?

Illusion, effort and work.

Pedro Juan, was born in Medellin Colombia based in NYC, has worked in the Fashion Industry at companies including Jill Stuart, Jones New York and Polo Ralph Lauren and today he is the founder and creative director of Stigma NYC.

What profession would you take on if you weren’t a designer?

Fashion Stylist for magazines

 
What made you decide you wanted to be a designer?

I always like art and drawing. When I was seven I learn how draw figurines and I find out a way to incorporate art into the human body with a specific aesthetic and style.

 

What do you love most about fashion?

Self-expression in the design process

Whats the most inspiring place for you?

London during the late sixties

 

Do you have a specific research process when you start designing new pieces?

Yes first I chose a team or subject. Then I research fabrics and textures, draw the different silhouettes and start developing the patterns

Nothing I like silence while I work

 

What has been the highlight moment of your career so far?

I have different moments, one when I won the scholarship to come to study to United States, then when I graduated and when I showed the collection in Paris and open my own brand

How did Trakabarraka start?

In 2005 Trakabarraka started its way. It is a vintage brand full of colors and keep an eye in every detail. Nowadays Trakabarraka is in more than 100 sale points in Spain and it is expanding its borders to France, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Japan and USA.

This brand and its sale points have the same line with a very clear purpose, dress classy and elegant every women.

 

What is the style of the brand?

A vintage brand that is based on colorful designs.

What is the philosophy of the brand?

We want to communicate our philosophy trough out color, difference and happiness. Make special every women that wear our designs and we want to be sure don´t be unnoticed in a world full of fast fashion companies. 

 

What are the influences of Trakabarraka?

Fantasy and vintage influences but with a classy touch.

Any celeb wearing your designs?

Until this moment not anyone in the spanish panorama. However, we know a french artist Rebecca Dautremer wears our designs.

 

Key moments for the brand?

Our first trade show in Paris in 2012.

 

What is US market for you?

We believe in our philosophy and in our style so we think it fits perfectly in the US market. Right now we have a very important client as MODCLOTH.

How did the brand start?

It started as a dream come true. I am a person that studied economics and I had the fashion as a hobby, but after a while I decided to make something that makes me happy and Aiby Craft was born. I believe in the eco fashion and the slow movement and it is for that I tried to use natural textiles and re use old ones. After my first steps I started to investigate and the eco luxury was my choice of making fashion.

Aiby Craft in one sentence? 
Elegant and modern and always being sensual. 

 

What is the philosophy of the brand?

Eco luxury. I thiknk is the best way to express the sustainability, hand made work and the exclusivity. 

 

What are the influences of the brand?
The hand made work, high couture and leather goods focus in the environment and in the sensuality of the 50´s. And, of course Florencia.

Any cell wearing Aiby Craft?
No until now. But it would be amazing someone as  Amber Valleta or Olivia Palermo will wear my designs.

 

Key moments of the brand?

AIBY Craft has only one year of life. In January during Berlin Fashion Week when I showcased my collection in the GreenShowroom or in a promotional action during Vogue NIght Out in Madrid.

 

What does US for Aiby Craft?

USA is the first consumer of eco fashion and is a big chance for Aiby Craft to develop and improve the life of the brand.
