We did it! We celebrated The Touch of Spain Afterwork party and we going to explain all the details.

The first thing that we choose was the place, The Roger Smith hotel was perfect for the location for an after work party and we save the date, May 13th.

After a week promoting the event, the day finally arrived. We started to set up at 11 am, we had a lot of details to take care about, and we wanted that everything was as perfect as we designed.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_2328.JPG

The Roger Smith Hotel Bar, the Lily’s, was empty, we had a lot of work to do. Gloria, Katharina and me created the Beiñ touch with all the Spanish designers: there were some clothing hanged in the ceiling, the information of the designers was in the table, there were two racks with the collections, the shoes and accessories were around the whole room and the pictures of the shooting to show the people all our work.

The featuring brands were: Guiem, Traka Barraka, Ecoology, Aiby Craft, Red and Rouge, Sueños de Lucia, Celia Valverde, Stigma NYC, Yaninna Luxury Shoes y Bhava Studio.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_2320.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_2321.JPG

Isa designed a cool video, that you can see here of the making of from the shooting, which was reproducing all time, the photo buzz with the Spanish complements to take pictures was in a corner, ready for the pictures. We create a little space where you could decorate and paint your own ecologic bag, a funny activity to complete the after work party.

Finally at 2pm finally we were done, a long morning decorating and working hard to make The Touch of Spain party perfect.

The press and VIP guests started to arrive at 3, we offered some cupcakes and sparkling wine, they look delicious. We were ready!

We explain everybody all the details about Beiñ, about the designers, about our future projects…

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_2327.JPG

Two of the designers, Francisca from Bhava Studio and Pedro Juan from Stigma NYC came to let people now more details about them and their brands. We were so glad about that and also took pictures and videos about the event.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_2324.JPG

The happy hour that we offer was so good, sangria, beer and wine! At 5 pm we opened the doors for the public and it was a total success.

We received some visits like Paula Rey and her assistant, the photograph, and John and Oxana, two of our models with the outfits of the designers, he was wearing Guiem and her Sueños de Lucia. Also Gustavo from Idea Catalyst came to enjoy and Kelly Hoey with Celia Valverde outfit, she was incredible! Here some pics of the event

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_2308.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_2323.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_2311.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_2310.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_2313.JPG

After a long day selling, explaining and showing The Touch of Spain to everybody in New York, we could say that we did a good job. Thanks to the assistants to come and let us have a nice afternoon.

We will have more events coming soon, keep tune in!

It is 12:30 in the morning and there is a lot of noise...

I’m waiting my friends in the corner of 16st with 7 ave. We are going to have brunch, our Sunday’s tradition, eat, drink and get energy to have a good week. Finally my friends arrive and we get inside to Cafeteria. It is a 7/24 restaurant where you can see Chelsea’s essence; stylish people, chic food and New york views.

b2ap3_thumbnail_cafeteria_v1_460x285.jpg

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_1259.JPG

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_1260.JPG

Cafeteria is always crowded because is very popular for the fashion new Yorkers and one of the must have restaurants for this 2015. In the bar there are busy barman preparing cool cocktails. The appearance is very important and so chic with original details. When we sit, the waiter just comes to take note of our command. I don’t check the menu because I know perfectly what I want; smoke salmon with benedict eggs, my favorite.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_1262.JPG

b2ap3_thumbnail_SmokedSalmonEggsBenedict-small.jpg

After eat we still talking, in Spain is called "sobremesa". Finally we order some waffles, they’re delicious. It is already dark, how fast the time goes when you feel good, right? We decide to take a walk, we are so close to the Chelsea market and Meatpacking stores too. This area is one of my favorite in NY.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_3344.JPG

If we check Chelsea’s Street style for this 2015 winter we can see that long coats are the winner. Also high boots, black and White colors combination and cream are popular too with black totes. The sport outfit is trendy this year; buttons shirts, jeans and sneakers with a leather jacket are the perfect combination. This year keep warm and be fashion is not impossible

It is Saturday morning; I wake up and need to go to Manhattan. I arrive to Penn Station; it is in Midtown between 34th and 7 avenue. I start  walking  around with the people. Everybody has a different style and a concept about what is fashion. There is a mix between  tourists,  locals and people like me.. that we aren’t from here but that we live here. Everything converges perfectly in New York.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Foto-13-12-14-13-52-51.jpg

I’m in the 26th street and there is a building with big windows. Also it has some colorful and nice advertisings. It is the FIT(Fashion Institue of Tecnology). The FIT is a center of fashion, a college, a museum and a place to celebrate events. I can’t resist to get in, there are Christmas decorations around, everything is beautiful. In the hall there is a Christmas pop up store, where designers that studied there can show their creations.

I walk inside, there are two exhibitions; the first one Faking It: Originals, Copies, and Counterfeits and Dance and Fashion. I get inside and I can see amazing and important pieces of fashion as Valentino, Chanel or Oscar de la Renta, next to them I can see the fake piece.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Captura-de-pantalla-2014-12-20-a-las-19.03.11.pngb2ap3_thumbnail_Captura-de-pantalla-2014-12-20-a-las-19.03.01.png

After that there are accessories and bags and screens where see how to detect a fake one. It is incredible the quantity of details that you can learn. At the end of the exhibition are brands as Homies, a funny way base don Hermes inspiration.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Captura-de-pantalla-2014-12-20-a-las-19.03.33.pngb2ap3_thumbnail_Captura-de-pantalla-2014-12-20-a-las-19.03.22.png

Sometimes you should get inside the FIT, it doesn’t matter if is just five minutes. You can learn and see how the culture and the fashion are in the air.

As Cindirella story the shoe was the first role during it. A shoe is "an item intended to protect and comfort the human foot while doing various activities. Shoes are also used as an item of decoration. The design of shoes has varied enormously through time and from culture to culture, with appearance originally being tied to function." If I have to chose a good description for it will be "is the perfect complement that defines your personality"

Femme Fatal

Black, red with a vertiginous heel, the Pigalle by Christian Louboutin. This is the icon of the firm and the most fetish piece, the sensuality and elegance in your feet. You will be the queen of the world.

b2ap3_thumbnail_los_zapatos_mas_iconicos_de_la_historia_510433260_1200x.jpg

Naif girl

The glitter and patent leather are the fetish material. Miu Miu makes you in a princess of a story with its shoes Mary Jane.

b2ap3_thumbnail_los_zapatos_mas_iconicos_de_la_historia_513425567_1200x.jpg

Rock&Roll Star

Booty make of laces and leather is the most used shoe among models and actress. Parisian style mix with punk and rock describes this design by Alaia. When you wear them you will be a rock star in the middle of the show.

b2ap3_thumbnail_los_zapatos_mas_iconicos_de_la_historia_610840155_1200x.jpg

Sporty&chic

The sneakers is the most trendy shoe this season. You can combine with luxury dresses and you could find lot of collabs between designers and brands. However these are the shoes that every woman should have in the closet. Easy, comfty and chic. Vans by Kenzo and total white Converse.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Kenzo-para-Vans-primavera-verano-20133.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_MTE5NTU2MzIyMzI4MjE3MDk5.jpg

Stylish girl

When you hear style your mind goes to stilettos and the king of them is Jimmy Choo. He started drawing his designs with eleven years, now is crime not have one of his designs in your closet. When you put on them you feel as you were walking in the red carpet.

b2ap3_thumbnail_fotos-jimmy-choo-tacones-aguja___2564-45384.jpg

Classy women

Pure class from Spain. You feel as a flamenco dancer when you put on them. This design by Angradema Lopez makes you sensual and elegant.

b2ap3_thumbnail_MODELO_3b_905.jpg

Sex on the city

If I say Sarah Jessica Parker and Sex on the city your mind goes straight to the Manolos. These shoes are the wish of every woman and when you are wearing them you don´y need anything else to shine and turn into the queen of the street.

Eva, founder of Ecoology

b2ap3_thumbnail_1797605_790079571004698_547271367040261777_n.jpg

When did Ecoology start?

Ecoology was born to create fashion with beautiful stories behind. I was tired of consuming fast fashion without personality, wearing everybody the same clothes as uniforms, cheap clothes made from the suffer of others with bad quality. One day I said this has to stop and I need to do something with common sense.

How do you define Ecoology?

Comfty and atemporal woman clothes that respect the environment.

What is the philosophy of the brand?

Minimize the environment impact without giving up the design of the clothes and take care of persons that work in fashion industry.

b2ap3_thumbnail_10494845_733845000006148_8237071881347349152_n.jpg

What is the slow movement for Ecoology?

Slow movement is a way to live and see everything. Breathe and be quiet in every moment giving priority to the things well done and have the time to do them. Slowfashion is more or less the same...make your designs thinking in all the production line from the raw materials that after turn into a dress until the selling action. You have to measure the impact that making a dress cause, thinking in every hand that every part of the dress have passed. Also is very important  recycle after use it or try to give the clothes a second chance or as times your creative mind can think.

Philosophy of Eva

I am in love with funny things and beautiful ones. I try to smile every moment and have good times. I think you are living your life to learn and enjoy with what you have and always trying to make a better world for the people will come after.

b2ap3_thumbnail_10006055_770310912981564_1558791451_o.jpg

What are the influences of the brand?

This brand has strong values and very defined: respect the environment, workers, no exploitation under any concept. We try to contribute to make a better world, the world everybody want to live.

Celebrity crush?

I like a lot Livia Firth due to she has a lot of media power in the slow fashion industry and I believe we need people like her. Vivianne Westwood is one of my favorites and now she is making a good work in the green thinking.  Lily Cole is also working to introduce the slow fashion movement and she wears her own clothing firm. All of them are my inspiration.  t

Any celeb wearing Ecoology?

Elsa Pataki (international actress) bought part of the collection and was so funny making adjustments in the clothes for her, all the designs look so nice on Elsa. Almudena Fernández (spanish model) wore an spectacular dress 100% organic cotton that fits perfectly on her.

What were the Key moments in the history of the brand?

There were and there are a lot of them. Now you have to take into account the market and demands and you have to face obstacles every day and you have to take the right decisions. Now I am focus in international markets.

b2ap3_thumbnail_10297715_833457996666855_3313799167484681757_n.jpg

What does US market mean for Ecoology?

USA is a really cool market and there is a big target to dress Ecoology that is a brand with international thinking and with a strong philosophy that encloses with the US citizen.

Tell us a little bit about working with Beiñ (Be in fashion Spain).

Beiñ is a big opportunity that makes your dreams real. When your expansion is with people with same toughs and values is really easy make good job. Sustainable development, slow fashion are things we share...we understand each other perfectly. They help me in every step in my business and projects, Beiñ make it easier and look after opportunities in the US market with good results.

Hello! Hola! First and foremost, hope everyone had a great 4th of July! If you guys recall, my latest pic on Instagram is one of myself wearing one of our very own brands, Red&Rouge. The brand makes amazing handmade, artisanal turbans! Can you say J’ADORE?! The craze for headpieces is at its peak this year and I could not be more excited! They turn a basic outfit into a head turner…all with a simple touch!

Turbans have been everywhere lately and are staying for a few more seasons. I recently read an article on WWD.com called “Resort 2015 Trend: Gentle Women”. Pictured were these amazing women in resort 2015 collections with nonetheless TURBANS! As I flipped the pages I totally pictured myself in various outfits with similar fab pieces on my head! I instantaneously went home and grabbed my Red&Rouge turbans out for a spin!

Below I will post a few pics of how you can wear them. Hope they serve as an inspiration to you gals! These pieces are so versatile and easy-peasy! I am not much of an accessories person but I have been drawn into this trend. It can make you stand out with just one simple addition. You can even skip on the jewelry or just pull one on when you’re having a bad hair day! It is definitely a piece everyone should invest in. They give you a ‘cool chic’ edge and can really be worn anywhere and anyhow!

Look at these pics with Red and Rouge turbans, you can find them here

Whichever you choose, you will not be disappointed. The quality is impeccable. Made with true craftsmanship and all by hand, these go to pieces are really “the icing on a well decorated cake”.

@classy_eug

Meet Eugenia

Welcome my fellow fashion rebels. If you have been keeping up with our Instagram {@BeinFashionSpain} you already know that we have a new PR Girl in town…, which happens to be me! You can call me Eugenia or by my name on social realms {@classy_eug}.

Where do I start? So I am currently a senior who is on track to graduate with a marketing degree in May of 2015. Surprisingly enough, all my fieldwork has been concentrated on fashion and events public relations.

A little more on a personal note now, I consider my self a food junkie and believe I was a hippie in a past life. I am a lover of all things fashion, especially street fashion. People-seeing is one of my favorite things to do. That is where I draw most of my inspiration. I am currently living between New Jersey {no, it is not that bad!!} and New York City. One of my biggest life goals is to learn how to fully embrace life and not hold back on anything.

I started working with Bein in September of 2014 helping out during Fashion Week, but am now back on a more serious note. I will take on the role of being Bein’s new PR Girl, which includes expressing my thoughts and fashion sense through this amazing, creative outlet called Bein Fashion Spain. Hope you all are as excited as I am!!

Just so you all have a heads up as to what my contribution to this blog will consist of, I will always be circulating something in the realms of fashion, lifestyle, and events that are happening around the area. If there is anything you classy people would like to hear about, feel free to connect with me! Also look out for a special segment where I will be exploring the different boroughs of New York. I will take a day where I go and explore the city streets that make up each specific borough inside out. Consider it to be my mini lifestyle tour guide to all things city-cool from me to you!

I am so excited to start this new journey and look forward to all the experiences this new professional encounter is about to bring me. It will be interesting, even for me, to see how a current college student takes on the task of being a PR Girl for a growing company while still juggling the college act.

With all that being said. Hope you all decide to hop on this trendy wagon with me and follow the blog regularly to read about my thoughts.

Make sure to follow our Instagram where you can catch every day pics of things I find cool, classy, and savvy.

Always remember…stay classy and do all things with love! MUAH

Shooting with the winners of Nolcha's ruffle.

Tuesday, June. One of those days with high temperatures and humidity in which you expect that it will start raining any second. This is how the day started on the planned shooting with the winners of the ruffle Beiñ organized for Nolcha Fashion Week.

Where did we meet? The north entrance of the High Line in NYC.

Who did we meet?
- The winners and amazing models Kate Ramsay (winner of this Ecoology dress) and Verónica Cruz (winner of this Angradema shoes).
- The Spanish fotographer and future collaborator of Beiñ, Sheila Curiel sheicreative.wordpress.com, who also brought the stylist Belén Vargas from BVR Stylist.
- And Cristina Merino representing Beiñ and coordinating the shooting.

At 2 o'clock we were all ready to start shooting with Kate and her Ecoology dress, but just then the rain fall on us! We managed to get some cover under the bridge and decided to wait until the rain stopped while doing the make-up and stylism to our two winners. Just like a miracle, the rain stopped at the same time as we finished preparing the two models and we managed to go on with the whole shooting without any more problems and with the perfect light to shoot.

Fashion is something that I love specially men´s clothing. When I was a little boy my mind was full of designs and new kind of clothes that I have never found in the streets. Is for that Guiëm was born is a way to create.

¿Cómo definirías el estilo de la marca en una frase?

Nordic cut and mediterranean Style

What is the philosophy of the brand?

Guiëm  defines a men with a string style, someone that has clear ideas and wants to be different from the others. Guiëm is a way to express yourself trough out what you are wearing.

I think there are a lot of stereotypes in men´s clothing and we want to be free in this thinking.

What are the influences in Guiëm?

Trully I have inspiration from everything. I put special interest in details, they go to my mind and after I put these ideas in designs, Guiëm is a brand that Guillem Llul will wear.

Celebrity crush?

I love and admire Patrick Harris: elegance and easy manner in one person that I share as Guillem Llul

Any celeb wearing your brand?

Not until this moment.

What have been the key moments in Guiëm life?

Guiëm starts in March of 2014 so is very soon to say something or analyze what are the past special moments in the brand. But I have to say that is amazing the support from bloggers and media...is a reason to continue in this industry.

What does USA mean for the brand?

USA is a very important market for Guiëm and new for us, something that we have to explore and explote. EEUU is the country of opportunities so we hope to meet our costumers.

"A T-shirt  is a style of soft shirt, named after the T shape of the body and sleeves. It is normally associated with short sleeves, a round neck line known as a "crew neck", and no collar."

In 1913 the first form that the T-shirt took was called a union suit in New York. It was one piece garment in white color. In 1951 this product arrived in Hollywood in a sexy way with Marlon Brandon and all the teens wanted one. Later in the middle of the 50´s the T-shirt was an icon of rebellion, "Rebel Without a Cause."

In the 60`s the T-shirt started to go in the same way of the culture and music. Rock, Phycodelia, Punk and they became in art works since in last 70`s when turned into a essential in any wardrobe and not only in men´s.

Now the T-shirt is a media channel to express and confess what you feeling or what you think about life, politics and culture: Message T-shirts.

You can find many designs with different stories. No matter the tribu you belong to. Maybe you don´t really realize that everybody has a T-shirt but the message on them is very different. Top designers and celebrities show us it.

Don´t you have a T-shirt saying I love New York? If not you are not in.

Here you can find some designs Made In Spain with a clear message and they are real art-works. Costalamel´s T-shirts has a strong feeling ‘make la honey’ manifesto. Honey is an attitude towards life. It is being yourself and fighting for your dreams. It is positivism, zest for life. It is an ode to all those singular people who keep fighting to assert their values and ideals. That’s why we make associations with young designers and local workshops, with brave people who have the deep desire to change things.

Guiëm says “I think the menswear still has a long journey to get rid of stereotypes and conventions; that’s exactly where we want to get, to that liberation” and you can see this in his designs.

Shooting day with the winner of Nolcha Fashion Week Raffle. Veronica Cruz

b2ap3_thumbnail__DSC0098.jpg

First of all, congratulations for becoming the winner of the Angradema shoes we raffled during Nolcha Fashion Week and thank you for accepting modeling for us with your brand new shoes!

We would like to know a bit more about you. What can you tell us?

Thank you, it was such a thrill to be the winner of the gorgeous Angradema shoes!

I moved to New York City with my husband last January- by way of Arizona- and have been loving our time settling in! I find life here to be constantly inspiring, exciting, and stimulating- especially for those of us with an interest/obsession in fashion, styling, and media. Almost immediately upon moving here, I connected with some really great, like minded people. I have since started working on creating my own blog and have gotten to participate in and attend some amazing local fashion events, including Nolcha Fashion Week. It's been such a wonderful experience. I am having a blast..and the adventures just keep coming!

The raffle you finally won lasted two days during Nolcha Fashion Week: the day of the runway and the day of the bloggers & media brunch. When did you meet us? How was your experience talking to Beiñ’s team? Did you expect becoming our winner?

I first met your team at the runway show, where I was drawn to the promotion for airfare to Spain, as it is one of my dream destinations. The girls and I chatted about our wanderlust and passion for international travel, a topic I can talk about for hours. When I first saw Bein set up at the media brunch, the first thing that caught my eye were the shoes- I even took a picture with them! Of course I signed up for the raffle but never expected to win. The first time I actually win a drawing and the prize happens to be a pair of shoes I had already fallen in love with!

Once you were selected as the winner of these shoes, we contacted you in order to get your measurements as the shoes were going to be handmade FOR YOU! Moreover, we went to give you your new shoes in person. How was the whole experience with us? Did you like the bag Beiñ’s team hand-painted for you?

The entire experience was surreal- from the moment the announcement was made to getting them delivered in person- it felt so intimate. The delivery and hand painted bag was such a lovely and personal touch- it made my handmade shoes feel all the more special. All these little details are what really made my experience with Bein so exceptional.

Then, next surprise: you would be modelling for us and the designer! Tell us where did Beiñ’s team take you for the shooting and how did you like it?

I loved it! We met at the Highline- one of my favorite New York spots- and got to take pictures around the Chelsea area. I felt like Carrie Bradshaw for the day- posing and modeling my new favorite shoes in the middle of NYC... every girls dream, right?

Which of the designs in our website are your 3 top picks (apart from your fantastic shoes, of course)?

Anything by Beatriz Penalver. I love the white bell sleeve dress featured on their lookbook!

And I know I would live in Taller's silky fringes for summer, as well as Red & Rouge's floral turbans.

Any style you are missing in our website that you would like to get a hand on?

I would just love to see Bein continue to showcase and support independent designers who are committed to a higher level of craftsmanship. It is really exciting to see Spanish designers go global and have such a presence in NYC! Quality and talent are meant to be admired in every language and culture.

b2ap3_thumbnail__DSC0056.jpg

How would you describe fashion from Spain?

Luxurious, sleek, and modern but with a nod to rebellion. Sophistication with touches of romance.

How likely are you to recommend Beiñ’s store and designers to your friends and family? And how likely are you to become one of our customers?

Very! I've already shared some of Bein's links and posts on my personal social media sites, as well as mentioned my own unique experience with them to everyone I know. It is something I will always treasure
