We were invited to TOUS x GALA event, in the heart of New York. An special event to present the new TOUS collection designed by Gala Gonzalez.

b2ap3_thumbnail_gala-x-tous.jpg

We arrived to the place, The Gary’s Loft, the decoration was very sophisticated and each detail was under control. There were balloons with TOUS on it.

There were three areas; the first one were you could enjoy the best Catalan wines, cava and cocktails by Anna de Codorniu and Raimat.

The second area were we could observe the capsule collection Gala for Tous with the presence of the “it girl” and designer Gala Gonzalez and Rosa Tous, who were there. The collection composed by earrings, bracelets, necklace and rings has the perfect fusion between the nature and the materials as ruby, emerald or diamond. We were totally in love, so elegant with a modern touch.

The third area The photocall where you could take frame pictures and wear Tous elements as sunglasses, bears or bags. After you could pick your picture and keep with you to remember the event.

Also it was a fantastic catering, the food was spectacular made it by a Spanish restaurant too. Tous wanted to keep the Spanish essence with the food, drinks and the guests. Some celebrities, bloggers and fashion media assisted the event too.

We enjoyed the afternoon; we have such nice time. It was time to leave, we picked up the gift bag, it contained Rosa perfume by Tous, a bracelet and the catalog with Tous for Gala collection. It was a cute present and we really appreciate it!!

We meet Eva at Moda 22, a coworking space where she develops the Ecoology designs. She has her own space, a small and charm office. There is a White closet where she keeps the clothing patterns. Also there is a sign where you can read I buy, I decide. It is the slow fashion movement slogan. In the table there is a computer where she designs, the inspiration book and some fabric samples. The office has a hanger and shelves where she has her work. "THE EVA´S WORLD"

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_0188.JPG

Eva explains to us a little bit more about her New Spring/Summer 2015 collection, where the up cycling has an important paper. Black is the unique color and it makes contrast with the red flowers prints from the up cycling fabrics. We love the effect and the style and we fall in love with the collection from the first moment.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_0235.JPGb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_0239.JPG

This time the fabrics are organic cotton mixed with up cycling fabrics. The lines are simples and straight. In the new collection there are shorts, skirts, t-shirts, dresses and jackets. This is a 6 clothing capsule’s collection where Ecoology surprise with the design and creativity MADE IN SPAIN.

Eva shows us the Moda 22 ‘s showroom where we can see all the clothing. Also she explains to Beiñ how design one of the most original clothing of the collection: the t-shirt with a web in the back.

Guillem Llull Vila designer and creator of GUIËM

b2ap3_thumbnail_10277289_634584536634355_163788577221327700_n.png

When did Guiëm start?

Fashion is something that I love specially men´s clothing. When I was a little boy my mind was full of designs and new kind of clothes that I have never found in the streets. Is for that Guiëm was born is a way to create.

¿Cómo definirías el estilo de la marca en una frase?

Nordic cut and mediterranean Style

b2ap3_thumbnail_10155638_614207785338697_6195254938426840436_n.jpg

What is the philosophy of the brand?

Guiëm  defines a men with a string style, someone that has clear ideas and wants to be different from the others. Guiëm is a way to express yourself trough out what you are wearing.

I think there are a lot of stereotypes in men´s clothing and we want to be free in this thinking.

What are the influences in Guiëm?

Trully I have inspiration from everything. I put special interest in details, they go to my mind and after I put these ideas in designs, Guiëm is a brand that Guillem Llul will wear.

Celebrity crush?

I love and admire Patrick Harris: elegance and easy manner in one person that I share as Guillem Llul

Any celeb wearing your brand?

Not until this moment.

What have been the key moments in Guiëm life?

Guiëm starts in March of 2014 so is very soon to say something or analyze what are the past special moments in the brand. But I have to say that is amazing the support from bloggers and media...is a reason to continue in this industry.

What does USA mean for the brand?

USA is a very important market for Guiëm and new for us, something that we have to explore and explote. EEUU is the country of opportunities so we hope to meet our costumers.

9. Tell us what is  Beiñ. for you

Go out from Spain, know a new market and an amazing opportunity.

b2ap3_thumbnail_nolita__manhattan.jpg

NoLIta is a neighborhood in the North of Little Italy as its name says. At the East of the Soho this area has turned into a reference for trends in fashion and for having the most luxury and coolest boutiques in New York

.b2ap3_thumbnail_timthumb-php5.jpg

Nolita was many years ago inside the neighborhood Little Italy and full of people from the suburbs specially from Brooklyn. However it changed when in the middle of the 90´s famous people moved to this area. David Bowie or Moby were some of them. Yuppies, restaurants, bars and boutiques occupied Nolita until today.

b2ap3_thumbnail_NYCNolita5.jpg

Be cool, be trendy, the elegance and the sophistication are the perfect adjetives to describe this area that have no competence in all Manhattan to be at the forefront in fashion, design and luxury. Walking around Nolita you can feel the influence of the East Village: colorful walls, street art and underground locals. The typical houses with the fire stairs in the street are mixed with minimal and chic locals. Have the best image and be the most risky in the place is a competition between the owners of restaurants, bars and boutiques.

b2ap3_thumbnail_la-foto-2.JPG

“ Underground chic “ is what is Nolita and the best way to discover this neighborhood is go there dressed with these designs. You could find them at www.shop.beinfashionspain.com

Sonia Olla, flamenco dancer and owner of the brand Taller de Artistas

When you think about the essence of Spain, your mind goes immediately to the South: the sound of the heels, the movement of the arms, the musical notes of the guitars, the smell of tapas and the most important thing: the strong and classy style.

Sonia Olla was born in Barcelona, but her southern roots are the most distinguished in her presence. She has worked with some of the most important figures of the flamenco industry in Spain such as Antonio Canales, Rafael Amargo or María Pagés.

After a while, she decided to go solo and move to New York City, where she has showcased some of her dances both alone and with her husband, one of the greatest flamenco singers in the Spanish panorama. They are quite an international family and have participated in shows all around Europe and the US.

For Sonia, the most important thing is to extol the brand ”Spain” and its culture all around the world, as well as making feelings grow on people’s heart when they see her shows.

“Taller de artistas” by Sonia Olla, a parallel project in which she is currently working. As we previously mentioned, Sonia has southern roots as her family is all from Granada. Her family has always sewed and create fabulous flamenco dresses for her, growing envy between her colleagues wherever she went. Now, after seeing the real potential for their collections, they have decided to develop the brand “Taller de Artistas”, something like “Artists attelier”, a brand made in Barcelona but with a clear southern vision.

“Hand-made art in movement”, is how Sonia Olla describes the project and all the creations that her family comes ups with, and of which she is the first and most important brand ambassador.

imageimageimage

What is the philosophy of the brand?

All the designs show the Spanish spirit, the Andalucia soul. The designs get inspired by the old flamencos, but they try to combine that classical inspiration with a more modern cut. Most of the designs are actually directed by Sonia herself, as she says flamenco is her life, it’s what moves her since she was born.

Her celebrity crushes are Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Moss, two of the most important fashion it-girls of the time, an influence you can feel looking at her own designs.

The evolution of the brand since it was born has been amazing. Adriana Lima for example, another great example within the flamenco panorama, has worn one of her designs!

The conviction and energy with what Sonia explains us the collection reminded us the concept of wearing an art-work everyday, which is the aim of Taller de Artistas: wear an urban and a trendy outfit, which makes you feel “passionate, energetic and elegant” at the same time. When you listen Sonia talking about both the brand and her work as a dance, you realize that her attitude in front of life is what has made her succeed and you will vibrate with Taller de Artistas designs as much as she does.

When talking about her career, she kept repeating that she has managed to fulfill the American dream, something she would have never imagined. The next step would be to bring that American dream also into the Taller de Artistas team by making a success of her next collection in the country.

Would you like to become part of that success?

Stay tuned with Beiñ as we will bring you their collection very soon through our shop online!
