BEIÑ ROADTRIP

After 8 days in a trip, we’re back in New York. Here you can read our diary’s trip where you can see what we visited, how we lived it and, for sure, our outfits.

Day 1 NYC-LAS VEGAS

We start the Roadtrip! We got a flight direction to Las Vegas, the city of the games. After 5 hours, finally we arrived. The suitcases were full and we had a lot of energy. We walked around to Las Vegas Boulevard, also know as The Strip. This is the main street where you can find the most important hotels; Caesars Palace, Bellagio, MGM…

The outfit was casual and so comfortable to travel and be adequate to Nevada’s weather and with a hipster touch with the hat. Anyway, the trendy in Las Vegas is a party and elegant outfit with high heels and long dresses for her and tie and smoking for him.

Day 2 LAS VEGAS-GRAND CANYON

The second day we woke up really early, at 4 am in the morning! We decided to wear a sportive outfit because we going to the mountain and we wore the Red and Rouge turbans. They kept our heads warm with style

b2ap3_thumbnail_10384286_846732852050695_4022166455534537457_n.jpg

After two hours in the bus, finally we arrived to the Hulapai Ranch in the Grand Canyon West. There were amazing views, the kind of that they take your breath. You can’t imagine how beautiful is until you are there. The colours were mixed between the rocks and the plants. It was so cold but we were well sheltered and fashion as always. After take the traditional American lunch with mash potatoes and gravy with meat, we decided to climb up until the Eagle Point.

b2ap3_thumbnail_unnamed-2_20150203-171259_1.jpg

From that point you could see better the Grand Canyon, no words. When we come back to Las Vegas, we visited the famous Welcome to Las Vegas Sign and the wedding chapel’s Street.

Day 3 LAS VEGAS-SANTA BARBARA-SOLVANG-SAN JOSE

The third day was a road day. We left Nevada and we visited the Hover Dam, highly recommended. We drove until California, a few hours and an amazing weather was the result. In Santa Barbara we visited a Pier with some stores, where you could relax while you were looking the coconut trees. Our next stop was Solvang, a little village where everything is inspired by the Danish architecture. It seems that you where in a fairy tale. We finished the day in San José; it was an hour driving until San Francisco. This city was charmed where you could see a few of the Californian style; print t-shirts, shorts, hats, the surfer style. For that day I decided to wear destroyed boyfriend jeans and platform’s sneakers, also a print t-shirt and a jacket. We ended the day taking some cocktails in a Mexican bar.

b2ap3_thumbnail_dia3.JPG

Day 4 SAN JOSE-SAN FRANCISCO

Another rise early morning, we arrived at first hour to the Golden Gate, it is as big as it looks and much bigger. We were well covers with other of our favorite Red and Rouge turbans for the day combined with converse and a knee cut jean.

b2ap3_thumbnail_unnamed-4.jpg

Also I wore a sweater and a good coat; it was the perfect outfit for a tourist. We visited the Alcatraz Jail, the Pier 39(where you can see sea lions) and Lombard Street, the most steeped street in San Francisco.

b2ap3_thumbnail_unnamed-3.jpg

We spent the afternoon in the City Hall, where there are the City Hall, the San Francisco Library and big and nice gardens to chill out. The fashion in San Francisco is not the same as in LA, basically because of the weather. It was more similar to New York but more conservative.

Malasaña is a neighborhood in the city centre of Madrid. It is known as the  alternative place to go, but why? Because of its strategic location between Chueca (gay tradition) and Argüelles ( near the University area ). The streets of Malasaña started its history with the movement called the Movida Madrileña of the 70s and 80s. That days this place was full of rock and underground culture around the night of Madrid, right now you can find there hipsters and it is place to find new brands , designers and full of trends and stylish people.

We start our route with old fashioned bar and pubs as Palentino or Casa Camacho were you can find low cost drinks, never forget to get on "yayo"

Penta or the Via Lactea are locals of Malasaña with a large tradition that keep a little bit of what it was during the Movida Madrileña.

If you are looking for a new outfit or discover colorful clothing, your shops are Trakabarraka or Lady Cacahuete. Monkey Garden is a place with cool brands and emerging designers clothes.

If you are looking for a second hand shop with vintage clothing you must go to El templo de Susu.

b2ap3_thumbnail_TemplodeSusuBig.ln_sitio-original.jpg

Now it is time to eat something, but where? Our recommendation is La Pescaderia or Clarita if your are looking for a good brunch.

In 2013 the sales in men´s clothing rose up 10% in USA (Bein&CO) meanwhile women´s clothing only rose up a 0,9% in the same period. The world market for menswear is expected to exceed $402 billion in 2014.

Now men are more worry about fashion, trends and look attractive, they like to go shopping inspired in men´s magazines as GQ, Esquire or Men´s Health. In the past few years there were some men icons inside fashion that became influencers or top bloggers as The Sartorialist. The fashion industry is not only for women. Time and culture changes everyday and this is the result.

Now we are living in a fashion trend called UNIXEX or ANDROGYNOUS, but Is it only a fleeting trend?

"The androgynous fashion is taking more and more strength, understanding it more as an ambiguous mind than a traditional one , a vision that don´t know about gender. It is not just clothes, is a way to express yourself and show it to others, forgetting stereotypes of "masculine" fashion or "feminine." We choose clothing that suits us well and speaks of us, whether girl or boy. Unisex fashion is gaining ground." This is what the designer of Guiëm says about the androgynous trend however is not only women wearing men clothing. Some designers in NYFW presented men collections wearing their models in a more feminism way,

Look this pictures of Guiëm Collection to see that no matter who is inside clothes.

Happy Monday everyone! So today’s post is going to be a little different. Today, we are going to explore a part of New York City instead of exploring a trend! So this week we are going to explore the ever so chic and hip SoHo. New York is broken up into all these small, ‘mini’ boroughs that each have their own personality. Just as a cool fact, the names of all these areas refer to their boundaries so SoHo stands for “South of Houston {street}”.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_9079.jpg

SoHo, out of many other characteristics it intakes, is known for its many art galleries, variety of shopping and the trendy people that occupy it.

FOOD

First, let us start with WHERE TO EAT! If I am good at anything it is knowing where the best food lies.

For American food, you MUST try the Mercer Kitchen, located on 99 Prince Street. A little pricey and infused with some Japanese culture, your meal is always uber fresh and full of flavor.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_8568.JPG

For the best French treats, one has to go visit Balthazaar, located on 80 Spring Street. I have yet to try their entrees but the bakery portion of this spot is AMAZING. Once you step into it, you instantly feel as if you left the concrete jungle and stepped into a Parisian escape. If my father has taught me anything it is to never skip on a sweet after a meal and this is the perfect place to fix your sweet tooth!

Next up is Isola Trattoria and Crudo Bar at the Mondrian Hotel. This is by far one of my favorite places to eat. Decked in gorgeous chandeliers and dimmed lights, this place has the best ambiance. It is a foodies dream in there.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_0217.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_0213.JPG

I cannot forget to mention Laduree, located on 398 W Broadway. If you know anything about me it is that I am utterly obsessed with macarons and this is my #1 place for them. Their SoHo location is relatively new and they opened a restaurant with it, so that is on my things to do!

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_8689.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_8688.jpg

Now, if you recall, I work in SoHo where I help manage PR so I am never able to have a full sit down meal. So where do I go? Gourmet Garage, located on 489 Broome Street. This marketplace has a little bit of everything…and the best part? You can sit on the steps outside of it to enjoy the food you snabbed and people watch! So much fun! Another place similar to Gourmet Garage is Dean&Deluca, located on 560 Broadway. Both these places are awesome for quick groceries or a quick bite. Food is always great and they even offer organic and vegan produce! Both of these places are great for tourists visiting the area because you can grab something quick and everyone will be happy!

TIP: When out to eat with friends, the best thing to do is order a few small plates to share, that way you share and taste more! This way, you get the full gist of the restaurant and really get to know what they have to offer.

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_9782.JPG

SHOP

Now, lets move onto WHERE TO SHOP! SoHo has a store for everyone. You can find affordable chain stores to high-end luxury boutiques. So, whatever you are looking for….SoHo has!

If you are looking for a variety of shops, you should go straight to Broadway. You will find stores like TopShop, Zara, Club Monaco, and even Bloomingdales! Now, if you are looking for some upscale stops, you have to explore beyond Broadway and head into the many streets that surround it such as Spring St (where you can find Chanel), Wooster St (where you can peak into Barneys and Tibi), and Greene St. (where you can find Saint Laurent, Chloe and Y3).

Cool, independent boutiques surround the area also including the Birkin Bar, which is a super cool consignment store filled with the best Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes, and Balenciaga…to name a few! Another one of my favorites is Opening Ceremony where you can find cool and new upcoming as well as established labels and you will most likely see someone famous!

THE PEOPLE

When in Soho, you will definitely see all types of people. If you head over to Broadway, you will see mainly tourists who are on one of their many stops from their tour bus and ready to do some shopping at the biggest chain stores. You will hear about five different languages at once when walking, haha! If you head over to the side streets, such as the ones I mentioned above, you should be prepared to find people walking with Saint Laurent Bags and some gym gear on. Just as a side, if you are ever in the mood for a great workout head to The Bar Method, Soul Cycle or Equinox! You will always see a cool car parked outside of one of the many shops and can even spot an a-lister.

TRENDS

Because of the different types of people that enlist in SoHo, the outfits and tends you will spot are endless. You will definitely see a lot of people rocking gym gear, who will potentially make you feel guilty for not being as proactive as them. Be prepared to also see a lot of lowing dresses with minimal accessories and people rocking the coolest eyewear. Booties are a year around thing in SoHo where they are paired with shorts and a hat in the summer and over bearing coats in the winter. SoHo is a place where you can really let your creative mind speak.  Wear what you want and be a trend setter because you will most likely be setting yourself up for success!

b2ap3_thumbnail_IMG_9970.jpg

ACTIVITIES

You will never run out of things to do around this place. Known for their many art galleries and cool clubs, SoHo is one of the top places for a good night out! For art galleries check out place like Pop International Gallery, Terrain Gallery and Martin Lawrence Galleries. You can always stop in for a quick peak at their current expo and it is almost always free. It is a nice little break from your everyday routine so if you are ever in the area, run!

Now if you want to have a night out on the town, I have a few suggestions! You can head over to the rooftop at the Mondrian Hotel where the vibe is always chill and the views are breathtaking. SoHo is best known for their small bars so enjoy a night of bar hopping around this area!
