In 2013 the sales in men´s clothing rose up 10% in USA (Bein&CO) meanwhile women´s clothing only rose up a 0,9% in the same period. The world market for menswear is expected to exceed $402 billion in 2014.
Now men are more worry about fashion, trends and look attractive, they like to go shopping inspired in men´s magazines as GQ, Esquire or Men´s Health. In the past few years there were some men icons inside fashion that became influencers or top bloggers as The Sartorialist. The fashion industry is not only for women. Time and culture changes everyday and this is the result.
Now we are living in a fashion trend called UNIXEX or ANDROGYNOUS, but Is it only a fleeting trend?
"The androgynous fashion is taking more and more strength, understanding it more as an ambiguous mind than a traditional one , a vision that don´t know about gender. It is not just clothes, is a way to express yourself and show it to others, forgetting stereotypes of "masculine" fashion or "feminine." We choose clothing that suits us well and speaks of us, whether girl or boy. Unisex fashion is gaining ground." This is what the designer of Guiëm says about the androgynous trend however is not only women wearing men clothing. Some designers in NYFW presented men collections wearing their models in a more feminism way,
Look this pictures of Guiëm Collection to see that no matter who is inside clothes.

The white shirt is the same as elegance, exclusivity and classy. If you look up the meaning of the SHIRT is " A shirt is a cloth garment for the upper body. Originally an undergarment worn exclusively by men". The white shirt is an icon and a "must" part in a suit of men. Also the tailoring industry was so important and a essential for high-class men for ages.
However the culture changes everyday and now you could find the shirt like this (see the picture below, the model is wearing a shirt by Guiëm)
Along the history there were some women that started to change the meaning of wearing a shirt as a symbol of independence and to rise the power of women in the real life. One of them was Coco Chanel in 1920 that made popular this cloth making it sexy and attractive. After this years ladies started to borrow the shirts of their fathers to combine with jeans but only as casual and informal outfits.
In 1952 showed up the "Bettina" by Givenchy with a classy touch and after the "shirt" disappeared for some years until 70´s when it became popular again thank to the films and some designers of that years.
Does not matter what social class you come from or if you want to look casual or elegant... the white shirt is always in and is an icon inside fashion. Carolina Herrera has made a line called "The white shirt" as a tribute to this icon in the history of women that means freedom.
Have you hear about anything about "oversize" trend? Is the perfect time to use the "shirt" of your boyfriend and combine what you like the most. We love that trend and encourage all the women to use men clothing in a sexy way.

Hey all you fashion lovers! Hope everyone is keeping up with this New York heat! A little brutal? Yes. But DO NOT WORRY...because I have just the perfect fashion fix for that: Costalmel’s graphic t-shirts. Nothing screams summer fashion like breezy t-shirts with prints that embody the summer feel. These urban street style pieces are a staple for a summer wardrobe.
Their current collection includes short-sleeve and sleeveless t-shirts for both men and women with prints including my favorite summer fruit, PINEAPPLES (yum), florals, and Mexican skulls. They mix these fun prints with j’adore illustrations that are not only eye catching but also jaw dropping.
Made out of 100% cotton, these easy-breezy shirts can uphold the brutal summer heat but can also be transitioned into the fall. There is nothing better to have than versatile pieces that you can style year around to fit the changing seasons. The base color of all of Costalemel’s shirts come in different shades of white (depending on the style), which cannot scream STAPLE PIECE enough. The fact that the actual t-shirt is a shade of white with a colored illustration, makes it that much easier to just pair it with about anything.
REMEMBER: It’s the summer, so have fun playing with colors and mixing different prints within your tops and bottoms. Fashion is supposed to be fearless so go get them!
One of the biggest fashion do’s of the past few seasons has been to mix streetwear with couture. Its been seen all over the catwalks and it is still prevailing. We’ve seen it in collections like Chanel, where dresses are mixed with sneakers and in Kanye West’s Paris debut where he swore by it. It brings the higher and the lower end of fashion into one, which I think is great. I am a huge fan of the trend and think it is super fun. It brings out an urban, effortless edge out of all of us.
